Kwave is a 24-bit sound editor that allows simple operations, such as cut, copy, and paste. Some more effect functions with little complexity (Simple Filtering, Delay) are also implemented. More sophisticated analysis functions (spectrograms, sonagrams, pitch determination) are underway or partially done.

Este comunicado de GSL reemplaza con FFTW3, que es compatible con la licencia Kwave, y elimina la copia interna de libaudiofile. Se vuelve a activar algunas características como "portapapeles de color", "selección de pista invertido", y "ir a la posición". This release replaces GSL with FFTW3, which is license-compatible with Kwave, and removes the internal copy of libaudiofile. It re-enables some features like "flush clipboard", "invert track selection", and "go to position". It has some feature enhancements in the status bar and overview widget.
