Linphone is an audio and video Internet phone with GTK+ and console interfaces. It uses the SIP protocol, and is compatible with most SIP clients and gateways. It can use various audio and video codecs such as Speex, GSM, G711, G722, ilbc, amr, Theora, H263-1998, MPEG4, H264, VP8, and snow.

Esta versión trae una gran GTK + completamente nueva interfaz gráfica, diseñada para ser más fáciles de utilizar y se ejecuta con el mismo aspecto tanto en Linux y Windows XP. También se ejecuta en segundo plano como un icono en la bandeja del sistema. Soluciones de Firewall de aplicación: el doble registro SIP y STUN. El ancho de banda disponible es utilizado por más eficiente el flujo de video, y un códec H.264 plugin está disponible para descargar a la experiencia con el vídeo de alta calidad. Muchas correcciones de edad están incluidos en esta versión también.

This major version brings a totally new GTK+ graphical interface, designed to be more user-friendly and running with the same aspect on both Linux and Windows XP. It also runs in the background as an icon into the system tray. Firewall workarounds are implemented: double SIP registration and STUN. The available bandwidth is more efficiently used by the video stream, and a new H.264 codec plugin is available for download to experience with high quality video. Many old bugfixes are included in this release too.
