The first release candidates for PROJ.4 4.9.3 have been released, and unfortunately the gpx2shp 0.71.0 failed to build with it due to the renamed PI defines.

A patch has been included in the Debian package to fix the build failure by using the new defines if those are available:

Please consider applying the patch for the next gpx2shp release.
