There is a new tabbed session user interface, though the classic MD interface is still available. Using the new software update manager, you can update SQuirreL in place without downloading the installer. There are some additional refactoring pattern implementations. There is much better support for SQLite. Many other improvements were made for performance and ease-of-use.

Handling of large scripts has been improved. New
plugins for H2, PostgreSQL, Sybase, and DB2 have
been added. Many other plugins were updated. There
is a new SQL history window available to make
searching for previously executed SQL easier. Many
bugs were also fixed.

New plugins were added for Derby and Informix. A
Refactoring plugin that allows altering of table
structure was added. SQuirreL now works with the
hxtt JDBC driver. Major new functionality was
added in the Oracle plugin. Major improvements
were made in performance when multiple schemas
exist. Informix and HADB support was added to the
DBCopy plugin. Date column handling was improved.
The Graph plugin now allows saving of graphs in
JPEG image files. Many bugs were also fixed.

A bug where database aliases weren't saved was
fixed. Copying Oracle LOB columns now works in the
DBCopy plugin. Trigger details are now displayed.
Tables now show in DB/2 ISeries. A data editing
issue was fixed. Issues with Sun High-Availability
Database and the DBCopy plugin were fixed. An
issue where the same table is found in multiple
schemas/catalogs to which the user has access
fixed.
