>政府は2018年11月13日、新天皇が即位する19年5月1日と「即位礼正殿の儀」が執り行われる19年10月22日を祝日とする特別法案を閣議決定した。

5月1日と10月22日の祝日は来年限り。祝日法の規定により、祝日に挟まれた4月30日と5月2日も休日になるため、19年は4月27日～5月6日まで、10連休となる。
