One wrote me that he always invokes ispell-change-directory manually. I've seen with ps that aspell was running with the arguments "--encoding=utf-8", but this would only be correct for a text in UTF-8 which I usually do not use for LaTeX. I try to use such a simple set-up: (setq ispell-dictionary "german8") ; (setq ispell-program-name "ispell") (setq ispell-program-name "aspell") (if (string= "aspell" ispell-program-name) (progn ; (setq ispell-dictionary "german8") (setq ispell-cmd-args "--norm-form=comp --norm-required --run-together") ; (setq ispell-extra-args "--norm-form=comp --norm-required --run-together") (set-default 'ispell-local-dictionary "german8") (message "Alles für «a»spell") ) ; (setq ispell-dictionary "german8") (message "Alles für »i«spell") ) ; (add-hook 'LaTeX-mode-hook (function (lambda () (setq ispell-extra-args '("-t"))))) which does not work in any version of Emacs. -- Greetings Pete The future will be much better tomorrow. -- George W.
