+<p>XOOPS Cube is the ground for base modules, Base module 'Legacy' is the box for modules. XOOPS Cube Legacy package has only minimum resources. You have to get various modules & themes, and install them. For that, learn more Cube Legacy 2.1.</p>

+<h5>Getting Starting</h5>
+<p>First of all, you have to keep the security of your site. After that, let's start building your site. Go to the top of the control panel. And, confirm whether some warnings are on the screen.</p>

+<h6>Warning about the install directory</h6>
+<p>That's just dangerous! Remove the install directory from your public directory right now! A malicious user can access the installer of your site. He may re-install XOOPS Cube in your site to become the administrator. You can remove that directory, because you have uploaded XOOPS Cube Legacy successfully. But if you don't know how to remove the directory, tell the administrator of the server.</p>

+<h6>Warning about mainfile.php</h6>
+<p>The message warns that a malicious attack can rewrite your mainfile.php. You should make mainfile.php unwritable to defend from such attacks. The way is different, by what OS your server is. It's common practice to change its permission to 644, in the case where your server Linux, Unix or their family OS. If your server is Windows family, you can change its security settings on the explorer. If you continue to be warned by the message, tell the administrator of the server.</p>

+<p>Let's learn the basic of the control panel. And, set up the basic information of your site with General Settings.</p>
+
+<h5>The basic layout of the control panel</h5>
+<h6>Side Menu</h6>
+<p>This mode you're accessing now is the control panel in XOOPS Cube Legacy. You have to use various menus to manage this site. See the left column. All control menus belong to any modules.</p>
+
+<p>You already have installed some modules at the installation step, so some menus are on the left column. Menus of the current module are opened. Meanwhile, menus of other modules are closed. To open menus of such modules, click [+] icon. And, you can click the title of modules to access the top page of modules.</p>
+
+<h6>Action Search</h6>
+<p>You may find the action-search box at upper-right corner of the screen. This is a special search feature for administrators. You can search menu you hope with keyword(s). In the case where you have forgotten the menu you hope, try it!</p>

+<p>For example --- if you have forgotten how to delete a user, try to input 'create user'. The action search will show some menu links for you.</p>

+<h5>The first step for your site (1) --- General Settings</h5>
+<p>Well then, let's start building your site. At first, look what a title of your site on the browser bar is. 'XOOPS Cube Site - Just Use it' ---- I think you don't want this site like XOOPS Cube Official sites.</p>

+<p>You can change your basic informations like a title or a slogan in 'General Settings'. Go to the general settings with clicking the menu of Legacy module. Then, you see many configuration items nearly 30. So I show only important items for you.</p>

+<h6>Site name</h6>
+<p>A name of your site.</p>
+
+<h6>Slogan for your site</h6>
+<p>A slogan of your site. That's good for sub-title.</p>
+
+<h6>Server timezone</h6>
+<p>This is a value of timezone for the server. Maybe, the installer has inputted this value correctly. Confirm it. If you don't know much timezone, keep the default value.</p>
+
+<h6>Default timezone</h6>
+<p>This is a value of default timezone for user registration. If your site is for New Yorkers, set 'Eastern Time'. Because a user can change his timezone himself, this is not must. If you don't know much timezone, keep the default value or the same value of the server timezone.</p>

+<h6>Debug mode</h6>
+<p>XOOPS Cube Legacy has three kind of debug mode for site owners to solve troubles quickly. The installer has set 'PHP Debug' as the default. You should keep 'PHP Debug' while you are building your site. But, don't forget to have to change it to 'Off', when the site goes public.</p>

+<h6>Turn your site off?</h6>
+<p>If you want to hide your site while you're building, answer with 'Yes'. Site become closed and impossible to access for ungrantable groups. In other words, you become unable to confirm your site as anonymous visitors under the site-close settings. Therefore, in the case where your site is not published yet, 'No' is good selection for you.</p>

+<h6>Submit!</h6>
+<p>OK? Push the 'Submit' button to finish site setting.</p>

+<h5>The first step for your site (2) --- User Preference</h5>
+<p>Because XOOPS Cube Legacy aims to the portal site, your site receives new user registration since first. Just in case, stop user registration. For that, you access to the preference of the user module. Click [+] icon by a title of the user module, and click 'Preference'. You see many configuration items like last screen. In this way, many configuration items are in each modules.</p>

+<h6>Allow new user registration?</h6>
+<p>Choose 'No' to stop new user registration. And, push the 'Submit' button.</p>
+
+<h5>The first step for your site (3) --- Change your site's theme</h5>
+<p>Click the homepage link at upper-right corner of the screen. You see the standard look & feel of your site like xoopscube.org... In XOOPS Cube, look & feel is decided by themes. You can change your site to other look & feel with changing themes. FTP client is must to upload new themes, as you've uploaded XOOPS Cube to the server at first with FTP client.</p>

+<h6>Get new themes</h6>
+<p>In this XOOPS Cube Legacy, you can use XOOPS2 themes. Many designers publish cool themes in their sites. Visit <a href="http://xoopscube.org" target="_blank">xoopscube.org</a> and <a href="http://xoopscube.org/modules/pukiwiki/?XOOPSCubeLegacy%2FSiteBuild%2FThemeSite" target="_blank">Wiki</a> to get their URL, and let's download your favorite themes. You may need decompression tools, because most themes are compressed as well as XOOPS Cube Legacy package. If you use WindowsXP or Mac OS X, it's easy to unzip theme archive files.</p>

+<p>Upload the directory of the decompressed theme to the themes directory under the root directory of your XOOPS Cube Legacy. The directory should include theme.html or package.ini.php. Keep in your mind the following directory tree.</p>

+<h6>Select your main theme</h6>
+<p>Click 'Theme Management' of Legacy module. And, choose the look & feel of your site by clicking the 'select' button next to your favourite theme.</p>

+<p>You've just finished the first step for your site. Your site got the name and the look & feel. That's preparation for the next step. Of course, you can change these setting anytime.</p>
