Jaxe is a Java XML editor with a graphical document-oriented interface. It is configurable with an XML schema and a configuration file. It supports validation at element insertion, and is customisable with Java modules. XSL transforms can be used to export documents in XML, HTML, or PDF. Sample configurations include XML schemas, XHTML strict, Docbook, and DITA.

This version includes a new program to create and edit configuration files easily. The W3C schema real-time validator has been rewritten from scratch, with added support for xs:all and a few other additions. Support for styles within styles has been improved. The equation editor is now using the STIX font, and a new element type for symbols can also use it. A new preference can be used to automatically indent saved files. A new configuration to create presentations (EXPOSE) is included.

The package also includes the dictionary files, so they don't have to be downloaded separately. A new configuration is available for the DITA XML language. Support for WXS schemas has been improved. The program is now even more stable, easy to use, useful, and configurable. This version added a way to do XPath queries, a new document dialog at startup, and support for the rowspan and colspan attributes in tables. It also has better support for schemas and speed optimisations that make loading documents faster.
