MusE is a multitrack virtual studio for Linux. It supports real-time editing of both MIDI and audio in an integrated environment. It has support for LADSPA and DSSI plugins (with Win VST support), JACK, and ALSA-MIDI output and input as well as internal softsynths. Numerous MIDI editors are available, including a piano roll, score editor, and drum editor.
There is full automation for both MIDI and audio.

MusE has a new look with both visual and usability
improvements. An internal redesign was done,
leading to greatly improved realtime performance.
MusE can now utilize Win32 VST-Instruments
natively. The internal synth interface has been
redesigned for better performance. MusE is now
always a Jack application, and the interface has
been greatly extended. The MIDI and audio mixers
have been merged, and numerous new audio features
has been added. MusE is now much more
customizable, and sports a shortcut editor.
