vmodemd is a telnet server designed to run old DOS BBS systems and door games. It listens for incoming TCP connections on a defined port, does a minimal telnet handshake if needed, and then starts to proxy all data to a PTY which is bound to a dosemu virtual serial port. vmodemd supports any number of virtual modems, can display customized banners if all modems are busy, can terminate a serial app when a telnet connection is unexpectedly dropped, and run custom scripts before passing control to dosemu, allowing you to pass relevant data like incoming IP address to the DOS app.

TinyIB is a lightweight PHP image board which emulates the functionality of 4chan. If you use MySQL or SQLite, you can use it to create an efficient setup able to handle large amounts of traffic. If you don't use a database, it can store posts as text files for a portable setup capable of running on virtually any PHP host.

OvBB is a light-weight and fast message board
system that mimics vBulletin 2.x.x in both look
and behavior, while incorporating new features and
functionality.

PsyPoster Message Board is a small yet robust
message board made from scratch in Perl. It was
designed to replace Matt's WWWBoard by giving
users the look, feel, and functionality they
wanted out of a message board. It has scaling
support for topics, dynamic pages w/headers and
footers, and is secured to prevent misuse.

Yazd is discussion forum software that can be easily configured through an administration interface. It is highly flexible and uses JDBC to connect to a backend database.

tunebox is a module for the Eros BBS engine for keeping
track of an Ogg collection.

The Karma System is a distributed, terminal
independent, stylistic bbs (bulletin board)
scripting environment for unix/linux. It is
reminiscent ansi/ascii glory of days past.

falmsg is a small utility that was designed for other sysops that are running the Falken BBS for Linux. It updates the .msg files that come with the distribution of Falken BBS, along with a few other small features. You can backup Falken BBS, restore Falken BBS, and erase the backup copy that is created using this program. falmsg is merely a front-end to a couple of other programs such as lynx, tar, telnet, and Falken BBS.

gtermix is a GTK+ telnet client intended for
calling BBSes. It utilizes a custom VGA textmode
emulating terminal widget that allows it to
accurately render bulletin board systems as they
were in DOS terminal programs. It currently
features a GTK+ user interface, dialing directory,
support for ANSI, vt100, Avatar, and TextFX
terminal emulations, and proper rendering for
DOS-style BBSes.

WCN:Talk (originally called "FutureForum") is a Web discussion forum written in Perl and MySQL. It has many options, including message selection and sorting on the top index page. It also has collapsible branches, a menu that toggles between 'no menu', 'simple', and 'advanced' modes, full text search capability, the ability to send email to the admin and original poster, and many other features. It includes password protection, HTML templates, file uploads, message subscription, multiple discussion sections, and a lot more.

dlg2html is a set of Bash shell scripts which help automate the
conversion of DLG Pro message bases to HTML for archiving or mirroring
on the Web. (DLG Pro is a Bulletin Board System for Amiga personal
computers.) The HTML message files contain the appropriate links to the
next and previous messages, as well as to any replies or referenced
messages. A message index is also produced. dlg2html works with terminal
dumps of DLG message boards, which means that you do not need access to
the actual BBS files to perform the conversion.

Null iBBS is a Web-based Bulletin Board System with file bases, message forums, private messaging, Web mail, and a shared hyperlink system. This software is designed for semi-private online communities and user groups.

Citadel SELinux Support is a set of SELinux
modules which extend mandatory access control
policies to the Citadel Groupware Server daemons
(citserver and webcit).

Kahenbook is a simple, easy-to-use guestbook. It
features templates that should be very easy to
change according to one's needs. It should run on
all operating systems having CGI-capable Web
servers, Perl, and MySQL.

LysKOM is an online, text based, interactive discussion system sort of like a mix between Mail, News, IRC and a BBS system. It's modeled after the KOM system that was available to DECsystems running the TOPS-20 operating system ages ago. The web site for LysKOM is written in Swedish, but the README files on the FTP site are in English. Both the server and (some of) the client(s) can speak both Swedish, English and other languages. LysKOM is a client-server system. This project is the server software itself.
